It is designed to be a development tool that will give you feedback on your strengths and weaknesses. Remember, this exercise is only worthwhile to the extent you treat it as a catalyst for improvement, rather than merely interpreting it as a judgement. Now that you know yourself and your competencies better, actively seek out opportunities to improve behaviors that most need improvement.

With the help of this feedback, you will be able to see the areas that you think are important to your job or to your future in the organization and assess where you stand on each of them. Using this report, you can set specific attainable goals and progress piecemeal.

Is what people say about me really “true”?

top

Yes, but remember it reflects their unique perspectives. If you are puzzled about some particular rating you received, it could be a sign that this may be an area for further development. On the other hand, it could mean that others don’t know you as well as they could. Bear in mind that people respond to us according to how they perceive us and often these perceptions are manifested by behaviors you display at the workplace.

What are normal ratings?

top

There is no absolute standard for what is “normal” for an individual. However, on the 1-6 rating scale that we have used for this survey, if you have ratings of 4 and above, it is clearly a positive indication for you. It is common for everyone to have some weaker competency areas. Your ratings will partly depend on the kind of work you do, your previous experience, how much opportunity you have already had for development and how well others know you.

Interpret averages cautiously

top

Use averages as a quick way to summarize information, but you should take some time to look at where the averages come from. It is important to interpret the numbers behind the averages and also the respondent group.

Interpret patterns

top

Given that respondents have varying perspectives, it might be useful to study patterns of ratings coming from various respondent groups. This report will help you establish these patterns.

What is a Rating Scale ?

top

Your respondents indicate the frequency at which they have observed your demonstration of specific behaviors or contra-behaviors using the following rating scale:

e.g.
0 -> Never
1 -> Rarely
2 -> Sometimes
3 -> Quite Often
4 -> Usually
5 -> Always

If respondents did not have any view or evidence on whether you display a behavior or not, they were given the option of a Null rating – “Don’t Know”These rating strings are customizable...admin can add his own nomenclature for this. Rating scale is also defined by the admin(e.g. 0 to 6).
